Artist and Grower

Kat Vontz is a floral artist who grows her medium to create with natural materials in ways that are both ephemeral and everlasting. She is a lifelong gardener with a background in visual art and floristry. Kat envisioned combining her passions and values when she formed Prairie Wild in 2015. With over 13 years of experience in floral design and over a decade in cut-flower production, Kat's work has always been dedicated to locally sourced materials and eco-friendly design. She also has a deep love of working with dried florals which is perhaps a reflection of her roots on the Nebraska prairie, from which Prairie Wild draws its name.
